My DevOps Journey
For over a decade, I worked as a systems engineer at a TV startup.
I traveled the world, trained clients, and felt confident. But deep down, I wasn’t growing.The tech world was moving forward at the speed of light. I wasn’t.In 2019, everything changed. Our startup was acquired by a global company, and one by one, our projects were shut down.My narrow skill set wasn’t enough anymore. I knew I had to change.I wanted more:
✅ A high-demand field.
✅ Better pay.
✅ Variety.
✅ Constant learning.That’s when I discovered DevOps.
It checked all the boxes.I completed a 6-month course, built hands-on projects, and mapped out my own learning path.
After months of tough interviews, I landed a junior DevOps role, even at 20% less pay.
I saw it as an investment in my future, and it proved to be the best decision I made.Fast Forward 4 Years
🔧 Transitioned from hands-on DevOps to designing end-to-end infrastructure solutions.
🤖 Became a technical leader, guiding cross-functional teams through complex infrastructure and automation initiatives.
💰 Built DevOps strategies that reduced release times and aligned engineering with business priorities.
🧱 Created resources, guides, and roadmaps to help others avoid the mistakes I made.
💬 Helped over 3,000 engineers learn, prepare, and break into DevOps roles.
Today
I have 15 years in IT (4 in DevOps), and I’m still learning every day.
My goal now? To help others start strong, grow fast, and feel confident in their DevOps career.
